Tiger Woods: recovering at home, three weeks after his accident

Tuesday March 16, three weeks after his car accident, Tiger Woods returned home recovering.

Tiger Woods returned home to Florida to continue his recovery. The golf superstar had been hospitalized since February 23, the date of the car accident that seriously injured his right leg, near Los Angeles.

On his Twitter account  Tiger Woods  wrote a message: “I am happy to report that I have returned home and continuing my recovery there. I am so grateful for the many supports and encouragement I have received over the past few weeks. “. He particularly thanked the nursing staff at Harbor-UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers : “You have all taken great care of me and I cannot thank you enough. I will recover at home and try to get stronger again. every day”.

On February 23, Tiger Woods lost control of his car in the early hours of the morning . He rolled several times on a steep, crash-prone road near Los Angeles. Rescue had to use a specialized tool and an ax to extract the 45-year-old star from his car  . According to Carlos Gonzalez, the first police officer to arrive at the scene, Tiger Woods was “lucid and calm” , despite the perilous situation in which he found himself. He was then urgently evacuated to the Harbor-UCLA trauma center, located south of Los Angeles where he underwent extensive surgery, including multiple open fractures in his right leg.which required inserting a metal rod into the tibia and screws to consolidate the bones of the foot and ankle.

Investigations are still ongoing and must determine the cause of the accident . Investigators hope that the vehicle, a very recent luxury model, is equipped with a black box allowing to give information on the speed , “which could have played a role in this accident”.
