United States: anti-Asian attacks multiply and worry

Violence against the Asian community is currently exploding across the Atlantic. The Stop Hate association collected 3,800 reports between February 2020 and February 2021, which represents an increase of 150%.

Joe Biden said it had to stop. In the United States, anti-Asian attacks are on the increase and are reaching worrying levels.

It’s less talked about racism, but the Asian American community is traumatized right now. Racist acts as a whole are always complicated to count: in short, there must be comments or writings proving racist intention.

The New York Times investigated and as of March 2020, counted 110 physical attacks with evidence like videos . Overall, including insults. The Stop Hate association collected 3,800 reports between February 2020 and February 2021, which represents an increase of 150%.

And there are undoubtedly more than the 110 proven listed by the New York Times.  In January, CCTV footage shows someone pushing with extreme violence an 84-year-old Thai man who was walking. He died … it was not counted as an anti-Asian act because there is no proof.

A similar attack took place in New York last week. A man  threw a 65-year-old woman to the ground  and kicked her on the head. This time, witnesses heard him utter anti-Asian slurs.
