A Zidane jersey, made for the France-Brazil 98 final, was sold for 108,800 euros at auction on Sunday July 18 in the United States.
108,800 dollars is the price at which one of the jerseys made for Zinédine Zidane for the 1998 World Cup final against Brazil was sold this Sunday , Julien’s Auctions announced.
Although the jersey has been authenticated by Fifa and Adidas, the auction house was unable to say whether or not it had been worn by the French footballer during this final won 3-0 by the Blues, and especially during the first half where Zidane had scored twice.
In October 2018, the Parisian auction company Coutau-Bégarie had to withdraw a few days before its sale, a jersey presented like the one worn by Zizou during France-Brazil, due to doubts about its authenticity. During the sale this weekend, which took place in Beverly Hills and online, the jersey of the French playmaker was estimated between 80,000 and 120,000 dollars by Julien’s Auctions.
